Ports Explained

Ports can be thought of as doors on your computer allowing access to and from the internet for software programs to use.
They are numbered from 0 - 65535. INetAlertView uses two of these ports to send and receive information
between the two programs INAV Home and INAV Remote. If you have a router you will have to make sure these ports are open
and incoming requests are "forwarded" to the computer that INAV Home is installed on. Look for the
"port forwarding" information in your router manual.

The diagram below illustrates how to set up "port forwarding" on a LinkSys router using the router software. This opens the port
numbers 7777 and 8080 for INetAlertView to communicate back and forth over the internet between the two programs
      (INAV Home and INAV Remote).

The diagram below shows the "port forwarding" settings on a D-Link router.

This is the directory where INAV Remote will store snapshots after the button is clicked.
